1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, cut into pieces
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
12 caramels, unwrapped
1 T. milk

1. In a large, heavy saucepan melt 1 cup chocolate chips and butter over lowest heat possible; stirring constantly until smooth.
2. Remove from heat; stir in eggs.
3. Add flour, sugar, vanilla extract and baking soda; combine well.
4. Spread batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan; sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips & nuts.
5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out slightly sticky.
