This turkey burger recipe is moist & delicious. Easy too, with only 3 ingredients. You can't beat that. Ground chicken or turkey is our ground beef substitute 100% of the time.
Serve with all the regular hamburger fixings: Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayo, mustard and ketchup on a whole wheat or regular bun. Barbecue sauce or A-1 are winners too.
Potato salad or
baked beans
taste great with these healthy burgers. This recipe was contributed by Vicki E. to a Taste of Home magazine. Yield: 5 servings
1/2 cup herb-seasoned stuffing croutons/bread cubes 1 lb. ground turkey or chicken 1 small onion, finely chopped or processed. Side note: If you process the onion in a food processor, you will get all the flavor and none of the texture that kids don't always like.
5 hamburger buns, whole wheat or plain. Hamburger toppings (listed above :)
1. Crush or process stuffing croutons/cubes into fine crumbs. You can crush them by placing in a ziploc bag, seal & roll with rolling pin. 2. In a bowl, combine crumbs, ground turkey & onion. Shape into 5 patties. 3. Broil, grill or cook in fry pan until fully cooked; about 8 - 10 minutes, turning once. Season lightly with salt & pepper. 4. Serve with all the fixings. Enjoy :)
