Russian Tea Cakes

Print This Page

Growing up, my mother made Christmas cookies galore. These delicious Russian Tea Cakes were a part of her repertoire. Thank you momma! :)

These are extra delicious with a steaming cup of coffee and can be enjoyed any time of year :)

1 cup butter, creamed (always use butter)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
3/4 cups crushed nuts (walnuts or pecans)
2 cups all-purpose flour

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream butter & powdered sugar. Add vanilla.
3. Mix in flour until combined well.
4. Fold in nuts.
5. Shape into balls; flatten slightly with fork in criss-cross fashion on cookie sheet.
6. Bake for 15 - 18 minutes. Watch carefully the first time you bake these to gauge your oven.
7. Pat in white sugar while hot & then again when cool.

Easy & delicious :)

Best Mixer!
