Recipe Software:
Big Oven

Big Oven Recipe Software will:
Manage your recipes, menus & create your grocery shopping lists!

Do you find yourself wondering "What's for Dinner?"
Going out or ordering in as a default?
Cha-ching, money gone!

I have found a great recipe software that has literally hundreds of thousands of recipes at my fingertips, and I can select & add any recipe to my daily, weekly or monthly menu calendar with a mouse click. Another mouse click transfers my menu into a grocery shopping list to print. Pretty slick! :)

Big Oven Recipe Software is a simple time-saver for busy moms & families.

Bookmark this page, so you can refer back to it for links to Big Oven. :)

If you haven't read "My Affiliate Promise," please do that and come right back. :)
I want you to be assured that even though I am an affiliate for Big Oven, I am recommending this recipe software with honesty & good faith.
And, as a customer myself.

I promised to let you know the pros and cons of the products and services I recommend, so let's get started.

PROS:
1. I love when a company gives free information, because you know they are interested in solving a problem for you without getting a penny from you.
Big Oven has an incredible amount of free information on their website; thousands and thousands of recipes divided by need like:
Dinner, breakfast, Weight Watchers, easy, etc.
They have forums and groups you can join to discuss subjects of foodie interest like:
Gluten-free, vegan, easy recipes, kid-friendly, entertaining, etc.

2. Big Oven comes with a 24-page "Getting Started" guide, and when you first open the software after downloading; a mini start-up guide is there too. Thank you Big Oven!
I'm a cover to cover reader of instructions, so I appreciate "Getting Started" guides. Coupled with my general lack of confidence in navigating computer software; I find these guides indispensable. :)

For many of you, the mini-guide or "no guide at all" will suffice in navigating this recipe software, but I'm always a bit skeptical wondering if I can "figure it out." I will include some tips later in this article that I discovered while working with the software. Hope they help you. :)

3. The cost is completely reasonable ($29.99) and you can download the software on up to 3 different computers that you use. Now to me, that's great value.

They also offer a 30-day money back, no questions asked guarantee. Pretty reasonable.

Okay, before I keep blabbering on about Big Oven, I want you to have a chance to "cut to the chase."
If you know you need a recipe software program, and have heard enough; just head on over by clicking on the picture banner below or above, and it will take you directly there. :)

4. I just got an e-mail from the creator of Big Oven Recipe Software!
Let's add speedy customer service to the list of "Pros." :)
I couldn't quite figure out how to download Big Oven on my 2nd computer without paying for it again (Okay, I had an idea, but didn't want to do it wrong :), so I posted my question in the forum, and I just checked my e-mail and there are two emails explaining what to do from the creator himself. Super Cool! :)

***The day I received his e-mail was Super Bowl Sunday, so that's pretty impressive service to me. :)

5. Big Oven recipe software allows you to:
Add personal recipes;
Create recipe boxes in addition to the ones included in the program;
Access all their recipe archives and any recipes already on your computer;
Get nutritional information on each recipe;
Create daily, weekly and monthly menus with print capabilities;
And create a grocery list from your menus with a few mouse clicks.
It's really pretty remarkable.

6. Big Oven offers a free i-Phone application, so you can access your recipes anywhere your i-Phone is. Pretty convenient!

7. My hope is that by using Big Oven recipe software, you will save time and money by having planned menus and a shopping list. These features should put an end to "What's for Dinner?"
"Let's just go out."
Cha-ching; money gone.

8. Big Oven was rated #1 recipe software by "Top Ten Reviews."
This is a completely neutral company reviewing products.

If you'd like to incorporate this great software, but have recipes sent automatically to you each day; check out this service by clicking on the banner below. This will not open into a new window, so you will have to backspace to get back here :)

New Dinner Ideas

Okay, let's talk about the cons.

CONS:
***I should warn you that most of my cons are related to understanding and navigating the software. I tend to be a bit of a "computer infant," so these "cons" may not apply to you. Just wanted you to know.

1. I got confused about some of the instructions.
In some cases, I thought the directions could have been more clear. I figured them out by trial and error, and using the FAQ's and reading the forums.

2. You can only add recipes to your menus.
What I mean by that is you can't just type into the menus "green salad," "frozen pizza," "veggie sticks," etc. They do tell you how to manage this in the forums, and I've included it in my tips below. This isn't really a con now that I know how to manage it, but it took some figuring out. :)

3. I was hoping to search magazines, etc. for recipes.
They never claimed I could do this, I just thought it would be cool.
What you need to do is find the recipe at another site; Epicurious, Google, keep-your-home-cooking.com :) or wherever; copy and paste the recipe into a screen; then, import.

I feel the above "cons" are just figuring out the software, and after one afternoon, I pretty much had it figured and was loving it. :)

4. You do need to do some configuring so each computer with Big Oven software downloaded will recognize the work done on another computer.
Or, be sure to download the software on the computer connected to your printer. You can sync your computers to share a printer; then you can work on one computer; then, send your recipes & menus to the shared printer, and Voila! You need some computer "know-how," to sync them up, so I included it in the "cons."

5. I should add that Big Oven, at this time, does not have a Mac version, but customers who use a "crossover" software, have found it to work well. The 30-day money back guarantee covers this possible glitch for Mac users.

SOME TIPS IN USING BIG OVEN RECIPE SOFTWARE:
You simply may want to bookmark this page, and come back after downloading Big Oven, and read these tips. It might make more sense. :)

1. When importing a recipe from a website or keep-your-home-cooking.com; use "Screen Import - paste" from the edit button at the top of the screen, not the edit button within the recipe system. You'll understand this when working with the program.

2. Important tip: When importing recipes, they will import into whatever recipe box you have open at the time. You want to be able to find the recipe once it's imported, so this is important. There is a feature to see recipes that were viewed recently or within a day range, so that also helps in locating imports.

3. Make a placeholder file for add-ons to your menus like "green salad," "chips," etc. I mention this in "Con #2."
You simply create a new recipe box titled "placeholders," and click the "new" recipe button, and type in whatever your add-on would be (green salad, veggies, etc.) then, when filling your menu, you can click on the "recipe" in your placeholder recipe box and place in your menu calendar. You need a new "recipe" for each entry that would be a meal add-on.

4. When you add a personal recipe, you will type it in.
Be clear to separate your quantity, ingredients, and description like "chopped," "minced," "melted" or whatever in the correct box, because when you add it to the grocery list, the list will be skewed if you don't type it in correctly. The boxes are there for you to do it right, I just didn't realize it would have such an affect on my grocery list. The recipes in their archive are formatted correctly, it's just the ones you import or type in yourself. :) Just a heads up on that one.

That's what I have discovered so far, and will update this as I find more.

Please feel free to contact me (find the form on the Navbar to the left), and I will answer any questions you may have about the recipe software.

Big Oven's forum and "FAQ's" are a goldmine and free to use.

Buy Big Oven recipe software through the picture banner below or on any other page you see it. As an affiliate, I will get a commission for the sale. I appreciate that so much, and it will help support keep-your-home-cooking.com.
