Peanut Butter Brownies! This Nestle Toll House recipe packs a tasty punch.
1 2/3 cups white sugar 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter 2 T. water 2 bars (2 oz. each) Nestle Toll House unsweetened baking chocolate, broken into pieces 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla extract 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter 3 T. white sugar 2 T. milk
1. In heavy, medium-sized saucepan, heat sugar; butter & water over low heat just to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat at the boil. 2. Add baking bars, stirring until melted. 3. Stir in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 4. Stir in vanilla extract. 5. Gradually add flour, baking soda and salt. Combine well. 6. Pour batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. 7. In a small, heavy saucepan, combine 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter, 3 T. sugar & 2 T. milk until smooth & combined. 8. Spoon peanut butter mixture over brownie batter; swirl lightly with knife. 9. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
