Oatmeal Cookies

Print This Page

I had these delicious oatmeal cookies at a friends, and I wanted one cookie after the next. It was desperately hard to stop! :)

She told me they were her family's favorite, and I understand why.
They have a rich flavor and are deliciously chewy -- "my favorite kind" :)
Enjoy DeAnna's favorite cookies.

1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal, quick-cooking
2 cups additions (either raisins, chocolate or butterscotch chips, nuts, toffee bits or a combination of any of the above)

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. Cream together butter & the sugars.
3. Add eggs & vanilla; mix well.
4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
5. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients; mix well.
6. Stir in oatmeal & the additions of your choice.
7. Bake for 7 - 10 minutes until cookies are dry on top & light golden brown.
8. Remove from the oven while soft & cool on wire racks.

Best Mixer!
