Moist Brownie Recipe

Print This Page

This moist brownie recipe is from a Nestle Toll House cookbook.
I'm not a big fan of frosting, but for those of you who are; the vanilla frosting adds a special touch.
Enjoy :)

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 (1 stick) butter
2 T. water
1 1/2 cups (9 oz.) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs

FROSTING:
1 container (16 oz.) prepared vanilla frosting or cream cheese frosting
1 tube (4 1/4 oz.) chocolate decorating icing or chocolate syrup

1. Combine flour, baking soda & salt in small bowl. Set aside.
2. Combine sugar, butter & water in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat; stirring constantly. Remove from heat after the boil.
3. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and vanilla; stir until smooth.
4. Add eggs, one at a time and combine well after each addition.
5. Stir in flour mixture & remaining chips. Spread into greased 9-inch square pan.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes or until center is set.
7. Cool completely in pan on rack.
8. Spread vanilla or cream cheese frosting over brownies. Decorate with chocolate icing or chocolate syrup.
