Print This Page

Cream cheese adds such a nice flavor to brownies.
You'll love these marbled chocolate brownies from Nestle.

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 cup (6 oz.) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 T. butter
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 T. white sugar
1 T. milk

1. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Set aside.
2. In a large, heavy-duty saucepan, heat 1 1/4 cups sugar, chocolate chips, applesauce & butter over low heat; stirring constantly until chips are just melted.
3. Remove from heat & cool slightly.
4. Stir in egg whites.
5. Add flour mixture and vanilla extract; stir well.
6. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
7. Mix together softened cream cheese, 1 T. sugar and milk. Drop by teaspoonfuls over batter; swirl with knife.
8. Bake in 325 degree oven for 22 - 28 minutes or just until set. Cool completely in pan.
