Healthy Biscuits

Print This Page

These healthy biscuits are delicious -- they disappear as soon as they're made.
I love them because they aren't too sweet; just perfect!
Full of grainy goodness.

This came from a Better Homes and Garden mini-cookbook.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
4 T. bran cereal
4 T. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup water
6 T. oil
2/3 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, thawed and drained.

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Lightly grease a cookie sheet; set aside.
3. In a medium bowl combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, rolled oats, bran cereal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
4. In a small bowl combine milk, water and oil. Stir milk mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
5. Gently stir in the blueberries.
6. Spoon the batter into 12 mounds (about 1/3 cup each).
7. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
