Cream Cheese Danish

Print This Page

This cream cheese danish is delicious!
I know I say this a lot about the recipes on my website, but...
Oh my!

How can you go wrong with cream cheese, a flaky crust, and pie filling?! You can't!

With the pie filling; it's almost like a dessert, so you might want to use just 1/2 a can of the pie filling.
But, the cream cheese sets off the sweetness really nicely.

This recipe is from one of my favorite websites: Bake Space.
It was contributed by Kathy.

CREAM CHEESE DANISH:
2 pkgs. crescent roll dough
2 8 oz. pkgs. of cream cheese
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can pie filling, cherry or blueberry are excellent in it.

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Spray bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
3. Unroll one package crescent roll dough in the bottom of pan. Pinch seams together.
4. With a mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla.
5. Take 1/2 the cream cheese mixture and spread on the crescent roll dough in pan.
6. Spread pie filling over cream cheese evenly.
7. Top with remaining cream cheese mixture, spreading over pie filling. This gets a little messy, but do your best.
8. Unroll 2nd crescent roll dough and place on top, pinching seams together.
9. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until dough is golden brown.

I recommend cooling this a bit before eating, because pie filling gets a bit runny.
