I love the chance to use cranberries in recipes. These cranberry bars combine my favorites: Cranberries, cream cheese & sweetened condensed milk. Yummy!
Because I can't get fresh cranberries in the Philippines, I love this recipe that uses canned. Enjoy :)
2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups oats 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup butter, softened 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 T. brown sugar 2 T. cornstarch 16 oz. can cranberry sauce
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, 3/4 cup brown sugar and butter. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of crumb mixture; set aside. 2. Press remaining crumbs firmly into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. 3. In a small bowl, beat 8 oz. softened cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add sweetened condensed milk. Stir in lemon juice.
