Cranberry Bars

Print This Page

I love the chance to use cranberries in recipes.
These cranberry bars combine my favorites: Cranberries, cream cheese & sweetened condensed milk. Yummy!

Because I can't get fresh cranberries in the Philippines, I love this recipe that uses canned.
Enjoy :)

2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 T. brown sugar
2 T. cornstarch
16 oz. can cranberry sauce

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, 3/4 cup brown sugar and butter. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of crumb mixture; set aside.
2. Press remaining crumbs firmly into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
3. In a small bowl, beat 8 oz. softened cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add sweetened condensed milk. Stir in lemon juice. Spread evenly over crust.
4. In another bowl, combine 1 T. brown sugar with 2 T. cornstarch. Stir in cranberry sauce. Spoon cranberry mixture over cheese layer.
5. Top with reserved crumb mixture.
6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
7. Cool completely; chill.
