Cornbread Recipe

Print This Page

I found this delicious cornbread recipe in a
Gooseberry Patch cookbook from Terry.

We love cornbread with chili, or as a side to tacos or fajitas --
any excuse to have cornbread.
We slather it in butter and honey -- love it!

cornbread

cornbread

3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup oil

1. Stir together dry ingredients; make a well in the mix.
2. Blend milk, egg and oil together; pour into well of dry ingredients.
Beat thoroughly.
3. Pour into greased 8 x 8 square pan.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 22 - 25 minutes.
