Best Chili Recipe

Print This Page

It's pretty bold to say this is the BEST CHILI RECIPE EVER,
but I promise, you won't be disappointed.

chili picture

I have been on a hunt for a great chili recipe, and one that has the ingredients I can get in the Philippines.

Put simply: We have not had chili for roughly 10 years -- that's how long we have lived overseas.
Pretty dismal, right?!

At a volleyball potluck, I tasted this gem, and made it the very next week.
Now, I serve it often :)

I have also put a couple scoops of this chili over our red chicken enchiladas, and as Guy Fieri (Food Network) says, "Hold me!"

We used this & made the most delicious nachos of all time; we're going to try chili fries too. Scrumpsh :)
It's delicious!!
I have my friend Gloria to thank for this one :)

BEST CHILI RECIPE:
2 lbs. ground meat -- I use either all ground chicken or 1/2 ground chicken & 1/2 ground pork. The recipe calls for ground beef, but we have an aversion to ground beef. Use what you like.
While browning the meat, I season with salt & pepper, and Italian seasoning to give it more of a sausage flavoring.

6 large cloves garlic, minced
3 onions, chopped fine -- lighten this up if your family is not keen on onions
1 cup green pepper, chopped fine
2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, undrained
2 cups water -- I usually need to add more, but I do it at the end.
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained and chopped well
1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
2 - 3 Tablespoons Chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
3 tsp. garlic salt
2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. black pepper -- I use coarse
2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Hot sauce to taste

1. Combine ground meat, garlic, onion, green pepper in a large pot; cook until meat is brown & crumbly. Drain well.

2. Add beans and rest of ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 1 hour; stirring occasionally.

Top with grated cheese, sour cream, cilantro, or green onions.
Prepare to be amazed! :)

The best pots & pans with a beautiful chili pot.
