Beef Tapa

Print This Page

This fried beef tapa is really very easy; except, for the
marinade overnight part.

But, plan ahead & it's no problem :)

Frying food is a way of life in the Philippines. Many people cook outdoors over an open fire, so frying is an obvious choice in this environment.

I found this recipe at pinoyrecipe.net

1 kilo (2.2 lbs.) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
1 1/2 T. + 1/2 tsp. salt
7 T. white sugar
1 tsp. garlic, minced
1 tsp. black pepper
2 1/2 T. soy sauce
3 1/2 T. vinegar
1/2 cup oil

1. Combine salt, sugar, garlic, black pepper, soy sauce & vinegar. Add beef strips & marinate overnight.
2. Heat oil in shallow fry pan & fry beef strips in batches.
You can add a little water to the pan when frying to tenderize the meat.
3. Place on paper towel to drain oil.
4. Serve with regular rice or fried rice & top with a fried egg.

You may want to drizzle this delicious
soy vinaigrette over your rice & beef. Spicy good!

Recipe from Yummy, Meals in Minutes
1 T. garlic, finely chopped
1 T. green or red onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup white vinegar
3 pieces sili peppers, chopped

Combine all ingredients. This soy vinaigrette has a delicious kick!
