cornbread.
My homeschooling friend, Ginny, gave me this delicious recipe. Thanks Ginny!
Serves 6
1. Brown 2 lbs. stew meat in 2 T. olive oil. Brown the meat slowly for 20 minutes or so.
2. Add: 1 T. salt 1 T. lemon juice 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. paprika 2 bay leaves A dash of allspice And, 4 cups of water. Simmer for 2 hours.
3. Add about 3 potatoes, peeled & cubed & 2 carrots, cubed. Cook for 40 minutes. 4. Add small bag of frozen peas & 1/2 small bag of frozen corn for 10 minutes.
**I should note that I have kept out all the fresh veggies, and just added a bag of mixed vegetables as a substitute. This works fine too.
5. Remove meat and vegetables. 6. Make gravy with 1/4 cup flour and enough water to make a medium thin paste. Add to liquid and cook until thickened.
7. Add meat & veggies back to stew & heat through.
Best pots & pans with a great stew pot.
